Our Story

National Coffee Academy is the first private coffee resource center in Nepal. It was established in 2010 as ‘Coffee Information Center’ (कफी सुचना केन्द्र, बल्खु) with the main objective to facilitate the farmers and promote specialty grade Nepali coffee.

Later, in 2018, additional group of passionate specialty coffee professionals including Dr. Raj Kumar Banjara and Nima Tenzing Sherpa (the 1st and the 2nd Nepali Q Graders respectively) were teamed up and the center has been reorganized and renamed as Coffee Academy (CA) which is now working as the resource center for Nepali coffee professional, farmer and cafe owner.

The primary objective of the organization is to operate coffee lab and to provide innovative tools, agricultural services, training and research on the coffee sector in Nepal.

CA has partnered with Coffee Strategies, an international coffee consulting company to implement bigger projects.

Our team consists of experienced farmers, agronomists, Q graders, processors, roasters, exporters, technicians, value chain & sustainability experts, market analysts and trade experts.
